Java Assistant Manager

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Communicate, influence, persuade and lead by example, the core values of the company.

  • Manage the full SDLC of one or more concurrent projects independently, including resource planning, timeline, checkpoints and cost to ensure timely and quality delivery of services to customers (internal and/or external)within costs and schedule.

  • Analyze, design, program, test, document and maintain IT systems or applications.

  • Responsible for the overall delivery of business applications that meet the needs of customers      (internal and/or external) by leveraging on re-usable modules for speedy and effective development and deployment of business applications.

  • Understand the interdependencies of the services (application, system, network and database) and is able to pin-point problem areas accurately to improve overall efficiency.

  • Provide technical advice to customers (internal and/or external) in technology/ tools to be used / project approach / products / solutions.

  • Adopt QMS and CMMi best      practices to ensure quality delivery of projects.

  • Responsible for user management, vendor management as well as delivery of projects within cost,      schedule and quality.

  • Carry out risk assessment and recommend risk mitigation measures to reduce/eradicate risk exposures.

  • Consistently share information on best practices and technology trends and give recommendation on best practices for project continuity.

  • Lead and manage direct reports towards achievement of common goals including providing technical leadership to the team, and guides staff on project management skills, system design and programming.

  • Manage and plan to capitalize on offshore IT sourcing company to control cost on development, maintenance and operations support.

  • Any other duties as and when assigned.

Experience required

· Minimum 8 years of IT working experiences in software development with at least 4 years of Project management experience in IT within one or more of the following technology

· Possess good experience developing web application, Web Forms, integrating Calendars and Enterprise Workflows

· Candidates experienced in Oracle / Business Process Management will be preferred

  • Experience in integrating Enterprise Content Management solution J2EE

  • Java, JSP/JSF, Spring/Struts framework, Hibernate/iBatis, AJAX, Javascript, XML & related technologies. UML notations/tools.

  • Weblogic Application Server, iPlanet Web Server, Oracle DB, Elixir, LDAP, MQ Series.
